Homeward bound

On the road & plan to be home before Badger Game tip off.
Had a great last night and enjoyed our Harry Potter show. Started with a pint of Guinness and shepherd's pie. Then to a theater filled with kids & adults decked out in their Potter attire.
Fun little vacation. Back to reality....

Birthday Boy

Hard to believe that 15 years ago a little red-headed baby changed our world.  Happy Birthday Evan.
We had planned to check out the Cleveland Zoo today, but with snow and wind chills in the teens we decided against it.  Instead we set our GPS for the biggest tourist attraction in Cleveland.  Yes, the house that was the setting for A Christmas Story.
Quite a place!  A museum, a gift shop & tours of the house. Hey, did you know that his name was Scut, not Scott Farkus? Who knew?  Even purchased a little treat.
After that excitement, we decided to go to the movies.  Saw Insurgent & loved it.
Tonight we're headed to the theater!  We're seeing a show called Potted Potter.  It's a parody of all 7 Harry Potter books & my Potterheads are super excited.  We're off to an Irish Pub for dinner to get ourselves in the spirit.

Rockin' in Cleveland

Well the weather is not great (yes, those are snowflakes) but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was very cool. That's us in front of Janis Joplin's Porsche & some Beatles costumes. We saw lots of guitars, drum sets & a ton of other memorabilia. We heard some great music  & although Emily knew about 10% of it, we were there for almost 4 hours & she was a trooper.  It's a great building right on Lake Erie and I'm sure it would have been a beautiful view, but fog, rain & snowflakes were in the way.  ðŸ˜•

The NCAA tournament is in town and Mark thought he might go catch the games tonight, but we've heard that tickets are going for $200-300.   Decided he should probably stay back at the hotel & cheer on the Badgers.

Cleveland!

Home away from home for a few days. After a day in the car we've happily arrived in Cleveland. Forecast is for rain all day tomorrow so we plan to head to The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in the morning.

Spring Break?

Headed out on our little Spring Break adventure to Cleveland, Ohio.  Got snow overnight.  Real springlike.  Wish I could say we're headed someplace warm, but this snowy weather is just going to follow us east.  Oh well.

Beach Day

Drove over to the Atlantic Ocean today, our last full day.  It was cool and breezy when we left (60ish), but when we stepped out onto the beach, it was cold & blustery!  Water temp was 64 so no swimming.  We were determined to spend some time on the beach so the kids did strip down to their suits, but I never did.  We were in the Canaveral National Seashore, so lots of wildlife preserve areas to explore.  We hoped to spot an  alligator, dolphin or sea turtle, but no luck.  We drove to a spot where manatee gather and saw a couple, so that was good.
By mid afternoon we were ready to head back to Orlando, but when we went to start the rental car, it wouldn't!  The check engine light had come on earlier so we were a little concerned...with reason.  We were able to find someone to give us a jump & that worked.  Thankfully, we were back on our way, but as soon as we turned of the car (back at our resort) it didn't start again.  After a call to our rental company, another car was delivered to us a couple hours later.  Strange!
We're mostly packed and ready to be on our way tomorrow morn around 8:30.  I'm not ready.  I'd like to stay for a few more days...or weeks.
