Bear Canyon

Yesterday's adventure was at a nearby state park called Bear  Canyon.  It was a beautiful wooded trail that followed a mountain stream.  We were a line of 13 hikers and since the area is known to be home to many bear, we made lots of noise with bells and our voices.  No bear sightings, thankfully.
We hiked up for a couple of hours and the kids splashed in the stream much of the way.
We ended the day with a 5th of July celebration including a few more fireworks and a bonfire.
Our group shrunk a bit more this morning as my parents and The Mahoney's left (Sam's sister Casey, husband Mark and 2 kids)
We're now down to our family and Scott and Sam's.
The guys have decided that today should be a play day for them and they will join moms and kids for another adventure- they deserve a break from the barn building.
(See next post for a pic of their progress)

Stay tuned.
