We've just crossed the Mighty Mississippi and entered Iowa. Feels like progress to be in a different state.
We hit the road at 4:30 am and everyone is in good spirits. Emily's still sleeping now but we'll likely make a breakfast stop before too long.
Drove through a pre-dawn thunderstorm and now we're seeing hazy sunshine. Since it's supposed to be 100 degrees today, we're ok being in the a/c van.
Mark just said he needs a cup of coffee so we'll make our first pit stop.
